United Record Pressing has managed to outlast its competition – partly by buying it – to become the largest operational vinyl manufacturing facility in the USA.

All the major labels – and a whole miscellany of independents – still use United as their source of vinyl. However, United is perhaps more famous for the classic Motown records that were pressed here…

It’s Where You’re Going

In a digital age where record companies and associated interest groups seem to be drawing their vision of the future from the Luddites, United Pressing is confident that their business will remain stable for the next few years at least.

There is more than enough interest from independent artists to keep vinyl pressing alive, and even the majors will continue to create vinyl runs, albeit primarily for promotional purposes. Add to this the persistent demand from DJs for turntable fodder and it seems that the vinyl revolution is just getting up to speed…
