Music Be The Food Of Love

RaphaĆ«l and Marianne Cauvard developed some interesting Jelly-based instrumentation as part of their ‘Noisy Jelly’ project. This is actually a game where the player has to ‘cook’ and create their own jelly instruments, which is based on an Arduino/maxMSP platform. The capacitance of the material will respond to movement and strength of contact of the performer’s touch, with each created instrument having its own unique responses… and of course, there is the potential to create any shape you care to mold!

Of course, these are not the only jelly-based creations out there – Ranjit Bhatnagar created a playable gelatin instrument for a JELL-O mold competition. You can see a performance of this concoction below…
